Ruth Ireland is the firm’s Head of Risk & Advisory Services. She has provided risk advisory, internal audit, governance, projects and transformation, and controls advice to clients for over 25 years and has led the firm’s RAS practice for the last 6 years.
Her experience spans a range of commercial sectors including consumer, real estate, healthcare, technology, manufacturing and natural resources, where she has worked with a range of clients from large private companies through to FTSE100. Ruth’s portfolio includes a range of projects: internal audit, controls assurance and business transformation projects, risk management consultancy and compliance programmes. She has a particular interest in the future of risk management, corporate reporting and economic, social and governance reform.

Tim Foster has over 20 year’s experience of successfully leading and delivering risk advisory and assurance assignments for large corporates throughout the UK and around the world. He has extensive experience in setting up and running value adding assurance and internal control functions, and managing large, complex process and control improvement projects.
He also specialises in evaluating large scale business change programs, delivering process and controls improvement solutions, and providing change and programme management support. He has a track record of successfully managing large client teams and streamlining financial and operational processes focused on client priorities. Although BDO RAS provides services to a broad range of sectors, his particular focus is on servicing leading companies across the aerospace and defence, automotive, manufacturing, wholesale and retail, and utilities sectors. Tim was heavily involved in designing the BDO ReThink framework, a framework that has been adopted throughout the BDO network.
