Tell us about your professional experience before discovering the Corporate Governance Institute

I am a retired Senior Officer in the US military responsible for governance over multiple large organizations. In the decade since then, I served twice as a C-Suite executive leading AI and Information Security. I also served as fiduciary director of a subsidiary and on the cybersecurity subcommittee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) association, governing cybersecurity for all 30+ BCBS organizations.

 

What challenges or opportunities were you facing in your career or on your board before taking our course?

I was interested in rounding out my subject matter expertise in the areas of cyber, AI and risk to include fiduciary and financial matters.

Can you describe any particular elements of the course that stood out to you or made a significant impact?

The sections on digital transformation, cyber and AI specialties all stood out to me.

 

How has completing this course influenced your career, leadership approach, or governance or ESG skills?

I’m now more well-rounded to govern in a director role.
