Tell us about your professional experience before discovering the Corporate Governance Institute.
I was tasked with leading the sustainability journey for our business. As part of this, I started looking at enhancing my learning, which led me to the Corporate Governance Institute.
What challenges or opportunities were you facing in your career or on your board before taking our course?
I did not have any qualifications in sustainability.
Why did you choose to study for the Diploma in ESG with us to help with these challenges/opportunities?
The course was able to offer me an 360-degree approach to sustainability from start to finish.
Can you describe any particular elements of the course that stood out to you or made a significant impact?
The section on the materiality report and the recognised frameworks really stood out for me. Overall, the course content provided me with an opportunity to reflect on where our business was at, and enabled me to robustly question our approach to ESG as a result.
How has completing this course influenced your career, leadership approach, or governance or ESG skills?
Completing the course has opened my eyes. I’m now well informed to advise and guide others in the business to where we should be heading.
What did you find most beneficial about studying with the Corporate Governance Institute?
I was able to call upon the Corporate Governance Institute for support as I worked through the course. Also, I’m able to relate what we have achieved in our business back to the diploma.
