Tell us about your professional experience before discovering the Corporate Governance Institute
Before discovering the Corporate Governance Institute, I had already completed a Master’s degree in Food Engineering and built up several years of experience working in the food industry. Over time, my roles became increasingly focused on technical and compliance aspects and I developed a strong interest in sustainability and governance through my work. This background gave me a solid foundation to approach ESG from both a practical and technical perspective.
What challenges or opportunities were you facing in your career or on your board before taking our course?
Before taking the course, I was at a turning point in my career. My company had recognised the increasing importance of ESG and sustainability within our industry and supported me in transitioning into a dedicated role in this area. This was both an exciting opportunity and a challenge, as it meant stepping into a newly created position where I needed to build knowledge, frameworks and credibility from the ground up. I knew the course would provide me with the structure and confidence to embrace this new path.

What advice would you give future learners wishing to pursue the Diploma in ESG?
My advice would be to do some research in advance and think carefully about how this qualification can align with your skills and career goals. The Diploma in ESG opens up many opportunities, but it’s important to understand the types of roles it can lead to and whether those are a good fit for your strengths and interests. Having that clarity will make the learning experience even more valuable and focused.
