Tell us about your professional experience before discovering the Corporate Governance Institute

I’m the founder of a specialised aviation consulting firm, offering strategic advisory services across the entire aviation value chain. The company is a trusted partner on the wide span of marketing, financing, leasing, management, and strategic positioning domains for airlines, inventors and leasing community, manufacturers, maintenance organisations, aviation trading companies.

Prior to founding my consultancy, I held senior leadership roles at leading global aviation organisations – AerCap and General Electric Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), serving as Vice President of Engine Management and Engine Marketing, and subsequently as Senior Vice President, Commercial. My earlier experience includes roles at Parc Aviation, Balkan Holidays Airlines, and Scorpion Air. In 2023, I ventured into entrepreneurship, leveraging decades of industry expertise.

Having lived and worked in four countries and studied under three different legal and educational systems, I’ve developed a global perspective. I’m multilingual and culturally fluent, with strong cross-border communication skills. My academic credentials include a Master’s in Aeronautical Engineering, a Master’s in Aviation Maintenance Management, and an MBA in General Management.

What challenges or opportunities were you facing in your career or on your board before taking our course?

Before taking the course, I identified several opportunities for leadership development. I am skilled at translating my technical and leasing expertise and commercial acumen into actionable items, strategic direction and value creation. My deep understanding of industry dynamics enables me to identify emerging trends early, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and align competing interests into actionable, results-driven strategies that enhance long-term shareholder value.

With a strong foundation in the global aviation industry, my natural progression was to contribute at board level within established aviation sectors—such as airlines, aircraft leasing companies, MROs, manufacturers and traders.

In parallel, I was eager to extend my contribution to innovative and forward-looking sectors that merge aviation with adjacent and emerging industries—such as aerospace, AI, robotics, scientific research, and commercial space activities. I saw significant opportunity in areas like unmanned aerial systems (UAS), drone cargo logistics, satellite infrastructure, and the commercialisation of low Earth orbit. I am passionate about shaping the future of these industries and would welcome the opportunity to support visionary organisations as a board member, helping to drive strategic growth and responsible innovation.

Why did you choose to study for the Diploma in Corporate Governance with us to help with these challenges/opportunities?

I chose to study for the Diploma in Corporate Governance with the Corporate Governance Institute because I was confident that it would provide me with the comprehensive knowledge and skills needed to excel in board positions within the aviation and technology sectors. The emphasis on practical applications and real-world case studies in the programme aligned perfectly with my goal of being well-prepared for the responsibilities and strategic decision-making required in board roles. I am pleased with my decision.

The institute’s education is interactive and presents the rare opportunity to work with unique faculty and study with established seniors from other industries all across Ireland, UK, the European Union and beyond.
