About Dr Robert Straw

Dr Robert Straw is the CEO of CEIBS Zurich and a member of the Advisory Board at the Corporate Governance Institute. He holds a B.A. in English Literature, Religion and Philosophy from the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia, and an MBA in Finance and International Business from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a PhD in International Economics from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Robert’s professional experience spans over 35 years in education, banking, and consulting. He is a regular speaker and moderator. Robert took his first trip to China in 1988 and has been a friend and follower of China ever since. Originally from the US, he has lived and worked in Europe since 1988. Robert has dual citizenship in the US and Switzerland. He has worked in the US, the UK, Germany, Nato-Europe, Switzerland and Vietnam. He has travelled to 70 countries for work and pleasure. Robert loves spending time with his large family. Having four daughters and currently 5 grandchildren keeps him busy. When he is not spending time with his family, he is in the mountains hiking or skiing. He is an avid golf player.
