This Speaker
Brad Oates is Chairman of Stone Advisors, a business advisory firm. He, had a distinguished professional football career in the National Football League (“NFL”) after graduating from Brigham Young University (“BYU”) where he was two-time captain of the football team, and named to the Associated Press All American Team. Brad augmented his off-seasons in the NFL by attending BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School where he graduated with honors and was awarded the Professional Responsibility Award by the Utah Bar Association. Brad began his professional business career in the Texas Banking industry where he earned a noted reputation for troubled bank turnarounds.
Senior executive experience includes: Chairman, Texas Savings and Community Bankers; Chairman, NFC Global; Chairman, Universal Hardwood Flooring; Chairman, eBureau; Chairman, RiskWise International; President, LexisNexis Risk Solutions; Executive Vice President, Stone Capital; President/COO, Bluebonnet Savings Bank. Brad is Director Certified by NACD; and, is an Executive Masters Professional Director with the American College of Corporate Directors. Brad served as an Independent Director with CIT Group (NYSE:CIT) from 2010 to 2022; and, currently serves on the Modere, Inc. board.
He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Institute for Excellence in Corporate Governance at University of Texas at Dallas; and is affiliated with the Sorensen Center for Moral and Ethical Leadership at BYU. Brad is a widely-respected presenter, speaker, and author on board/management corporate governance (with an expertise in cyber governance), business ethics, stakeholder capitalism, enterprise risk management, organizational leadership, and competitive business strategy. Brad is the founder of the Stakeholder IQ Governance Model (“SIQ Model”), and has authored a number of articles on corporate governance, including, “What Corporate America Can Learn About Self-Governance From Championship Teams.”
