Tell us about your professional experience before discovering The Corporate Governance Institute.
I’m an economist with over 25 years of experience in the public, private and international sectors, specialising in governance, sustainability and economic development. Throughout my career, I’ve held leadership roles where I championed sustainability and governance in various industries. I’ve also advised government bodies on investment promotion and policy reform and guided businesses through complex business issues. Currently, as the Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Egypt, I collaborate with the private sector to promote responsible business and enhance ESG performance.
What challenges or opportunities were you facing in your career or on your board before taking our course?
I’ve always aimed to work clearly and practically. With evolving ESG requirements and the growing need for the private sector to implement robust governance systems and sustainability strategies, I’ve found opportunities to refine my approach and help organisations develop more effective and interconnected systems across organisations.
