"Completing the course gave me the confidence to elevate my voice: to blend my trailblazer energy with internationally recognised governance standards, so I can contribute with both passion and credibility. I can now say that I have confidence through credibility."
Tell us about your professional experience before discovering the Corporate Governance Institute.
I was always an advocate of strong governance and believed in its role in building resilient organisations. But when it came to data governance, I didn’t have enough depth of knowledge to elevate the conversation or fully support my statements and approach with frameworks and best practices.
What challenges or opportunities were you facing in your career or on your board before taking our course?
On the board and in executive discussions, I could always emphasise the importance of governance, but I struggled to connect it with practical frameworks — ownership, accountability, and lifecycle management of data. My advocacy was respected, but it needed stronger technical grounding.
I was (and still am) known as the “crazy woman / trailblazer” in my industry — the one who keeps a bulletproof vest in her office as a symbol. A reminder that executives are not followers. They are custodians of the interests of all stakeholders, responsible for ensuring resilient and sustainable businesses.
In short, my passion and voice earned respect. But I wanted the knowledge and tools to transform that passion into frameworks that boards and executives could implement.
Why did you choose to study for the Diploma in Corporate Governance with us to help with these challenges/opportunities?
I chose the Corporate Governance Institute because I wanted to be relevant in today’s rapidly changing governance landscape and to make a positive impact at board and executive level.
I have always been passionate about strong governance, but I knew I had much more to offer. To amplify my voice and influence, I needed structured knowledge, global best practices, and practical tools that could translate conviction into credible, actionable frameworks.
This Diploma gave me the confidence to connect governance to data, ESG, and resilience, and the ability to step into boardroom conversations not just as an advocate, but as a governance leader equipped to deliver impact.
Can you describe any particular elements of the course that stood out to you or made a significant impact?
As a purpose-driven person, I am always seeking ways to connect governance with impact. The Diploma stood out because it gave me the tools and clarity to turn purpose into practice.
How has completing this course influenced your career, leadership approach, or governance or ESG skills?
Completing the course gave me the confidence to elevate my voice: to blend my trailblazer energy with internationally recognised governance standards, so I can contribute with both passion and credibility. I can now say that I have confidence through credibility.
What did you find most beneficial about studying with the Corporate Governance Institute?
I have always been passionate about governance, but CGI gave me the credibility, structure, and language to elevate that passion into real impact. I valued the confidence it gave me to stand not just as a trailblazer with conviction, but as a leader with the knowledge and credibility to shape decisions that matter.
