Tell us about your professional experience before discovering The Corporate Governance Institute.

My professional experience spans over 31 years across corporate governance, corporate training, accounting, and consultancy in business, finance and taxation.

During that time I built expertise in corporate governance, risk management, strategy development & review, computerised accounting systems implementation, project management and business consultancy. I also specialise in developing & delivering corporate training solutions on strategic planning, customer service, financial management, business management and taxation.

What challenges or opportunities were you facing in your career or on your board before taking our course?

A major challenge was being able to effectively help boards with issues implementing ESG in strategy development and particularly the governance of ESG.

Why did you choose to study for the Diploma in ESG with us to help with these challenges/opportunities?

When I realised that the modular nature of the programme would be well-suited to my busy professional life. That was the moment I decided to enrol in the Diploma in ESG.

Can you describe any particular elements of the course that stood out to you or made a significant impact?

The parts of the curriculum that made the most impact personally were embedding ESG and governance practices as well as the module on ESG risk management.

How has completing this course influenced your career, leadership approach, governance or ESG skills?

Yes, the diploma has already started to influence how I approach ESG. I’m currently looking for opportunities to share the knowledge with Boards and Management.

The Diploma in ESG has certainly improved decision-making and performance within my organisation.
